The church will not last forever--it will not be necessary for ever. The family is the only relationship/unit/element of our lives that will carry on into eternity. That is why Satan has such an interest in destroying families. He really doesn't care as much about the church as an institution, because he knows that it's temporary too. He strikes at morality and honesty and charity because those are the characteristics of a strong family and if he can dismantle families, he has made eternal progress at our expense.
That also makes sense of the "suggested" priorities often listed in Church--relationship with God at the top, Family in a close second place, then church work, career work, recreation and other daily life things. If going to Enrichment pinches in on some precious little family time, choose the family. Enrichment comes and goes. If scripture reading and prayers are being sacrificed to early morning administrative meetings in the ward, something is wrong there too. Ballard's talk this conference "O Be Wise" is a great explanation of these priorities. We just have to keep in mind what is eternal and what is temporal.

Is this a justification for not going to Enrichment?
No. Well, it can be, if you want to use it. Just make sure your family time isn't watching TV or something. You can only use it as justification if what you are doing is a higher priority.
