Potty Training Log 7.20.02

9:27 post a blog about this--mostly so I can keep track of it, and hopefully, to give other people venturing into this same wilderness a little hope (oh, please, let this be a hopeful process!)
9:28 take Clark to the potty. Sits there for 8 minutes. Nothing happens.
9:45 Clark starts splashing in a newly created puddle on the bathroom floor. He is also playing with my jewelry. I choose not to think about that very much. No more clean undies, he puts on Pull-Ups.
10:20 Clark sits on the potty before we go to the library. SUCCESS!!
11:20 Clark sits on the potty after we come home from the library. SUCCESS!!
12:20 Clark sits on the potty after lunch. SUCCESS!!
12:30 I understand that Clark was just getting too nervous this morning about having new underwear and new expectations and couldn't perform on the potty. Once I took it down a notch, he did better. I think he liked the familiarity of the training pants.
1:00 Clark sits on the potty before his nap. Nothing happens. I'm not stupid and I put him to bed in his pull-ups.

SUCCESS! Good work, he's a smart kid, he'll figure it out.
Does he get bread for a reward?

We found that the firs three days were the hardest, but after that Carter seemed to understand his body a little better and there were a lot less accidents. Another tip someone told me was to put undies on and then the pull-up. This way there's a different feeling when it's wet than just a diaper. Good luck and hang in there!!
