A Beautiful Mind

So, I've decided to take the GRE and enroll in graduate school here in San Antonio. I took a practice test this afternoon to see how much I needed to study. Maybe I should reconsider my plan. This was the most impressive part:

xy=96, if x squared = 16, then y squared = ?

After some arduous LONG division, I came up with the answer y=221, which means that 4 x 221 = 96.

Mr. Simons, you've failed me.

I might take the GRE too, but i'm afraid that the 5 year hiatus from math might prove detrimental

Kudos to you for enrolling in graduate school. Are you going to go to UTSA, too? And what are you going to study? You can't just casually mention something like this without giving us some details!

Jan, kudos, but are you crazy? Grad school! Wow! I'll support you but I can't give you math help.

I commend you decision... but I must warn you, I thought I really missed school and then I started graduate classes and realized that all I needed was a mind stimulator, not more homework. :)

What are you going to study?

I'm going to get an M.A. in History. Then hopefully go on for a PhD when Ben's in residency. I still love teaching and i love history, but I don't love disciplining disrespectful teenagers, so I thought I'd go for teaching on a higher level.

My answer is 576...do you know what it should be? I with you on needing some stimulation, maybe I'll just study for the GRE but not actually take it! :)
