Breakfast with the Beetle, 2008

For the second fun year in a row, my sister Emily came to visit us. Emily is also called Beetle because of her fascination with Beetlejuice at a young age. I think "Its Showtime" came before "cookie" or "drink" in her verbal development. She is a literal ray of sunshine and we were so sad when she had to leave. Come back, Beetle.

Anyway, I've been slow to post pictures because I'm trying to battle my excessive blogging. But we had a great time camping, cookie making, chaps making, walking in the river, playing at the park, taking pictures of everything, making Eva smile, teaching Clark how to make an elephant noise (and he's GOOD!), kissing stuffed animals, watching stuffed animals kiss, feeding stuffed animals, and holding a secret family Christmas drawing.

And so, in a quick rewind, here is our weekend together. From last to first.

Clark is so big! What a cutie! I love the picture of him feeding himself with his mouth wide open. It is priceless. His hair is really cute too, very boyish!

I really love the picture of Clark and the rock. That's some camera skills. Also, you look lovely in that purple turtleneck shirt, Jan. And I just love Eva and I don't know her yet.

Hello Beetle! How about a trip to Indianapolis? Although I can't promise as much fun as Jan provides.

Clark looks so old. And Eva is beautiful. Just like her mom.

I've never been to Indiana . . .

Jan, I love all of the pics. You captured some really cute ones of the kids. And I love the family one of you guys walking across the water. I thought you said you cut your hair--exactly how long was it?? Beautiful kids--Clark is already such a charmer, and Eva has such a pretty and peaceful face--even in pics she seems to bring peace.

Do weekends get any better? Apparantly not! I'm glad Beetle could make it out to the heartland. And Jan, your fam is wicked cute. You should NOT worry about excessive blogging. There is no such thing. Your blog is a source of much anticipated entertainment. Sometimes, I just can't get my fix any other way!
