- Nearby, tall mountains
- four seasons
- soft grass
- fire ant free
- within 5 hours of cousins
- hot springs (this is my condition)
We love road trips.
(by the way, if you are in Utah and want to hang out, we would love to. Well, both of us would love to, but I'm probably the only one who has the time. Sending a cosmic wish of good luck to Ben as he studies for his boards through the internets)

Was Ben left behind on this road trip? Glad to hear it was successful. Good luck to all of you.
I had some of those same thoughts whilst living in Texas. I missed the mountains and the seasons! Also I hated cockroaches and other weird insects and the inability to walk in the grass because it was prickly and you would get eaten alive by ants.
Sal and I have a nearly identical list. My condition is that we must be within a couple hours of the ocean. If I could pick anywhere to live based on these physical features alone, I think I'd go with Eugene, OR. We would be a couple hours from the mountains, a couple hours from the ocean, they get little snow and moderate temperatures all year round. Oh, and I'm pretty sure they do not have fire ants! :)
I couldn't agree more. We're reminded how much we love the weather and mountains every time we leave Texas. Enjoy Utah.
What if everyone in your entire family moved to Brownsville, TX? Then what?
My parents called this afternoon just to say that they saw January at church today! Imagine my jealousy. My deep green jealousy.
I'm glad you are in Utah. I hope you guys have a great trip.
YEA for road trips! Have a great time! And we'll be praying for Ben! Hope all goes well with his tests! BTW, if you need a place to stop in CO on the way back, my parents have a crib and kids room and plenty of other spare rooms. You'd be more than welcome.
Hey! DAve is studying for boards too! We are in Missouri though, bad luck for us! We could totally hang out. I should've called you because I'm sure you would've rearranged your whole trip and come to St. Louis instead...
That is so funny! Just last night my family was reminiscing about the wild life in Texas...especially the fire ants and the armadillos.
Hey Jan, do you remember that rhubarb crisp that you fed me once when you were living in Logan? Would it be possible for you to send me the recipe? My email's on my blog. Thanks!
We are in NM now so next time you are crazy enough to make the drive my sofa is all yours!!
And by the way a family just moved in next to us. Anyway I don't know if you remember Sharleen De Gaston from high school but she told me to tell you hi. She was a jr. when we were sr.. Small world!
