Pregnant women don't waddle because they are suddenly front heavy and can't bear the weight of their growing belly.
Pregnant women waddle because their hip and pelvic joints alternately stiffen and melt--allowing the baby and all of their guts to slip down into that region and create a tremendous amount of pressure.
So next time you see a waddler, don't think to yourself, "I wish I could help her carry that huge belly around", instead think, "I wish I could help her by oiling her joints like the tin man."
